Douglas Adams on Technology and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

This is an that interview Adams did not long before his death. I like his speculations here about what technology did to culture in the 20th century. It lines up with the movement of postmodernism, in particular, as thought and representation became fragmented, man unable to reckon with himself.

Alienation, in the midst of all our connectivity, seems to have been what has plagued us. Adams got that. And his is a voice that is sorely missed. So enjoy Towel Day, friends, and celebrate a fun writer, and a series that does tell us a lot about ourselves, both funny and sad at the same time.

Happy Towel Day, all!

    1. haha….Annoyingly, I meant for this post to go out at 3 in the afternoon and forgot to put it in military time for the computer. Ah well. Glad it reminded you, and glad you enjoyed the interview. I found so much neat stuff in it, and it’s just 10 minutes long.
