Let’s all have coffee at my place this weekend.

I’m announcing my first ever linkup today. It will be fun and easy to join. Everyone is invited. Now, let me explain.

If We Were Having Coffee” is a thing. It’s mostly a weekend blogging thing, but really, it doesn’t matter when you post one. People will love it as long as you are your genuine self. So I’m having a weekend coffee linkup at my new blog, Just Gene’O. It’s not the kickoff party. More like the housewarming. Here is how this will work.

  1. I’ll publish my “If we were having coffee” post very early on Saturday so it will be there when North America wakes up. It might even appear in time to entertain a few Aussie Insomniacs. (if that’s not a good blog title, I don’t know what is, lol!)
  2. If you want to join in, write your own coffee post. Doesn’t matter what you tell us about your  life or how long/short it is. Just write it, publish it, and drop a link to it on the thread at Just Gene’O. Not a link to your front page. A link to the post.
  3. I’ll read the thread and visit everyone who leaves me a link to a coffee post.
  4. I’ll share every post in at least one way, and some of them in several ways. This might include: Tweeting a link to my awesome Tweeps; sharing on StumbleUpon; pinning your post on Pinterest (if you include an image); adding your post to my Google Plus stream; sharing on one of my two Facebook fanpages; or reblogging  your post.

I can’t do everything for everyone because that would be spammy and take all weekend. But I can do at least one thing for everyone. I am willing to do at least that, if people show up 🙂

I was going to talk about my inspiration, make this post twice as long, and add in links to all my social media accounts. It got late, and you can find links to most of my social media on the sidebar at Just Gene’O, so I’ll just say:

Join in. It will be cool.

    1. Fabulous. I look forward to it.

While you’re here, just want you to know I haven’t forgotten about that Friday thing we were discussing, but the schedule’s been pushed back, at least as far as me doing the coordination/promotion, because I don’t know whether I’m coming or going right now.

We’ll get the Fridays back up to speed in the next two or three weeks, though.

      1. No worries! I ended up changing my topic, simply because the other turned much more in depth. That’ll give me time to work on both, so if you want to write me down for two Fridays (don’t have to be consecutive but that would work well) I should be good to go!

  1. I’ve just found your “If We Were Having Coffee” posts, I liked the idea and was planning on writing one this Sunday anyway. Thanks for the idea and opening it up to everyone to join in. I can’t wait to read everyone’s posts 🙂

    1. Awesome! People seem to love those posts. I can’t tell you how many bloggers have thanked us for the idea since Diana started doing them (she’s the one who turned me on to them). Sadly, we can’t remember where we saw them first. I’d love to know who originated them.

    1. Awesome! Sunday’s fine. I’m not going to close the thread or anything like that. Will do the sharing for a little while on Saturday, and then on Sunday afternoon if my schedule cooperates.

  3. Love this! Also finding I love the “let’s have coffee” posts. Such a nice way to get to know other bloggers… and a nice way to share some of what’s going on in my own life — I really found writing my most recent one to be lots of fun!
Looking forward to coffee this weekend!

    1. Very cool. It was actually a Twitter exchange you had and your last linkup that gave me this brilliant idea. Wanted to say that in this post, but I ran out of gas, so had to save it for Saturday.
