Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Books I Recommend if You Like Nerdy Non-Fiction

Each week, The Broke and the Bookish holds Top Ten Tuesday, a booking meme. This week, we’re talking about book recommendations based on genre, author, etc.

I’ve been reading a variety of things lately, but some of my favorites have been nerdy nonfiction books. I like odd topics and strange stories, and I like thinking about pop culture has shaped our world. Here are my top 10 recommendations for those whole like nerdy non-fiction books:

    1. It’s a really good book, very informative. It does get a bit muddy in places, but I think that’s the nature of the beast.

      Awesome list—love dystopic fiction!

    1. Hope you find some you enjoy!

I like quirky nonfiction, like the study of Dungeons and Dragons (Of Dice and Men) and the bathtoy book (Moby Duck). They’re just fun, and I love to hear about how/why people went down those research paths in addition to reading the actual researched story.

    1. Chuck Klosterman is an essayist, for the most part, and Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs is one of his collections of essays about pop culture—everything from Saved by the Bell to, well, Cocoa Puffs. πŸ™‚

  1. I’m definitely interested in Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy! I did a speech in college on S. Emma Edmonds and I’d love to learn more about her and those other women. Thanks for the great recommendations!
