If we were having coffee, I would be stopping in quickly before heading off to work, much last last week. Our photo booth last week went amazingly well, and we’re doing another this afternoon for more St. Patrick’s Day festivities on the Coast.
We were out in the sunshine, and everyone seemed so happy. We had lots of silly props, and we spent the afternoon taking pictures of people in them–with mustaches and painted faces, silly hats and masks and sometimes a rubber chicken. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon, really.
It’s been a week of stops and starts with the business–leaps forward and then a step or two backward–but that’s the nature of starting a business, I suppose. We’re all making it work, but it does mean some adjustment and a lot of doing things for the first time. I’ve learned to do a lot of things since starting this, and I’m sure I’ll learn to do many more things along the way.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that blogging is also really busy this week.
The A to Z Challenge is closer than ever, and I’m still nailing down daily topics. I meant to have at least some things written by now, but it just hasn’t happened. That is something I’ll be doing this week, though. Last year, I wrote my posts along the way, and it was really difficult. I managed my way through, and managed fairly well, considering I was writing an essay each day, but–difficult. And I’m busier during the days now than I was then.
I did have chance to take part in another of the Twitter events for the A to Z Challenge this week, and that was great fun again. If you’re participating, I’d encourage you to join us—chats are held every Thursday at 1 and 8 p.m. ET.
And contributor Lyn will be debuting a new series at the Monster this week. She’s moving Once a Month Gamer to her site, Lazy Lady, so you can still catch it there! I’ll be sad to see it leave the Monster, but I’m really excited about the series that she’s moving over here–we both think it will be a better fit for the Monster.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the anniversary went really, really well. We had an amazing dinner while Little Jedi stayed with his step-grandma, and Sam brought me beautiful flowers and a gift-card to my favorite local bookstore. He also booked an appointment for my new tattoo, which I’m terrifically excited about.
And this weekend, while we’re not working, we’re having a Hunger Games marathon here at home, watching the three that are out. I haven’t managed to see Mockingjay yet. It was released just around my comprehensive exam time, and I just didn’t get a chance to get to it. But now I get to.
It’s been just the right sort of first anniversary week.
