#WeekendCoffeeShare: In Which I Am About to Have A Busy Week

If we were having coffee, we’d be curled up on the couch, home on a Saturday for the first time in a few weeks and for the last time in several weeks to come. Work and going home have kept me busy, and next weekend the Little Jedi’s party will keep me busy, while the Saturday after will see me getting the new tattoo.

We’re throwing a super-hero party, and I’m working on making games and decorations for Little Jedi’s party this coming week. We’re

And now I’ve got a new job, too. I’m working for a local non-profit organization in the afternoons. I’m still working with the photography business, but the work I do for it, at least for a while, is on a part-time basis. I’m excited about the new place, and about the new people I’ll be working with. It does mean that I’m about to get a lot busier, though!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve been watching HBO’s The Jinx this week. It’s a really fascinating story, but rather unbelievable in scope. The real-estate heir has been accused of at least 3 murders but hasn’t been found guilty of any of them thus far. He was arrested in New Orleans just a few weeks ago.

I’ve always found true crime stories and insights into serial killers’ minds to be compelling. And, considering both the new twists in the case(s) and the hours of interviews on the show, I’m just flummoxed. And I can’t look away.

If we were having coffee, I would remind you that the A to Z Challenge starts on Wednesday, April 1. Here’s what you can expect: In the month of April, on every day except Sunday, I’ll be blogging through the alphabet, a letter each day.

My theme this year will be Lady Monsters. You can also find me in Sourcerer’s Geek Pastiche on April 9, 18, and 30. You’ll see posts from Lyn and Gene’O here, and a few posts from some new contributors.

Weekly features won’t occur past Tuesday, March 31, with the exception of weekend coffee share. I’m going to keep running coffee shares, of course, though they’ll probably be shorter than normal, and sometimes they might be round-ups of A to Z posts from the week.

I know a lot of you are also participating in A to Z—just remember that the link-up will be here once the challenge is over, and don’t over-extend yourself! Enjoy the challenge. 🙂

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that we need to institute a Few Rules.

And they will be few, but they’re a bit important.

1. Only “if we were having coffee” posts on the weekend coffee share linky and hashtag.
2. Use the #weekendcoffeeshare tag on social media, but be aware that using it in or as your blog headline means it gets used every time someone shares it. If 20 people are sharing your posts, that’s amazing—but that floods the hashtag and crowds out others. Please don’t do that. (My post title includes the hashtag only because my post includes the linky.)

And that’s really it. 🙂

    1. I do! I think I pretty much always have a lot going on, though. 🙂

I’m sure Little Jedi’s party will be awesome, and A to Z as well. Just the jitters leading up to the events. 🙂

  2. I am really interested to hear what you think when you finish ‘The Jinx’, I want to watch it. I teach criminal justice and I am really interested in the case. I don’t have HBO though, so I’m not sure if I want to spend money on it.

    1. We finished the series last night, and I am still thinking about it. Absolutely worth watching, especially if you’re into criminal justice and this case in particular—really interesting stuff. Rather unbelievable, too, but there it is.

  3. Totally forgot to add my link to the linky until just now on account of being so excited about having actual coffee with Hannah!!

Out with the grand-boy this afternoon.

  4. I hope Little Jedi has a great day! A superhero party sounds like fun. Congratulations on the new job, I hope you enjoy it!

A question: I’ve been sporadically doing a Coffee Share post on my fiction blog, is it OK if I share that one on the linky as well? They’re lots of fun to write, and I always do them from the same character point of view, but if you don’t want me to put it on the linky that’s fine. The most recent one is here: https://fictionaslife.wordpress.com/2015/03/25/if-we-were-having-tea/

  5. Little Jedi’s party sounds awesome. Hubby would be all over that. He wanted a superhero party for our wedding after all, lol. I’m in an A to Z panic. I’m hoping I’ll be able to get some writing done this weekend. So much for planning ahead! haha.

    1. ha! I think Sam (my husband) is really excited about it, too. And honestly, I’m pretty stoked, myself. But lol at the superhero wedding party. I’ve never been to an uber-geeky wedding, surprisingly enough, but I’m sure they’re fun.

And yes—I’m frantically writing for A to Z while doing coffee share this weekend, as well!

    1. Thanks for letting me know—that’s really strange! I’ll have to see if I can find anything that might account for it on my end. I know sometimes the tags can affect that.

    2. It has been doing weird things lately. I’ve had two scheduled posts miss in the last couple of weeks. Both times, they showed up as “published” in the dashboard, but I’ve had to go and edit the time and update them to make them hit the front page.

Also, I reblogged something for a friend recently and when I checked the link, got a security warning and I KNOW the blog I reblogged is safe.

And I have a friend I’ve followed by email at least three times now, and can’t get the posts to actually come to my inbox.

      1. There are a lot of weird things. A few weeks ago I got security warnings on every blog I visited. I’ve been getting e-mails that someone has posted but there is nothing in the Reader. The header disappeared from my blog and I had to put it back. And a lot more. I think WP is having technical difficulties…

        1. They’re trying to update too much at once, not waiting to see if what they fixed is working as it should before moving along to the next project. Not usually a good thing. Frustrating for Users.

        2. I think you’re right. In the past weird things happened right before a major upgrade, but now the weird things just seem to continue on so they must be doing a constant fiddling.
