Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books On My TBR For Summer 2015

Each week, The Broke and the Bookish holds Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly booking meme. This week, we’re talking about books that are on our summer reading lists. And since my summer reading list is somewhat dictated by the challenges in Nerd in the Brain’s Summer Reading and Writing Program, I’ve got a wide range of books to meet a wide range of challenges, some new and some that I need to catch up on. Here are 10 that I’m really looking forward to:

1. A book published the year I was born:

2. A book that is older than I am:

3. A book that includes a monster:

4. A graphic novel:

5. A book with a red cover:

6. A book by someone with the same first or last name as me:

7. A book recommended by a friend:

8. A book with a non-human protagonist:

9. A book with more than 300 pages:

10. A book about a real person that I want to know more about:

    1. I also love the cover. I’m a few chapters in and a bit confused so far, but we’ll see. Maguire’s writing is hit or miss for me, but my sister-in-law really likes him. I bought her this one for Christmas, and she said I should give it a go.

  1. Have fun with those reads. Dianne Wynne Jones books are great. I did enjoy howl’s moving castle, but “fire and hemlock” and the “chronicles of crestomancy” must be my favourites.

    1. I have heard great things about those, too. I haven’t yet read Wynne Jones, though I certainly should’ve. I’m looking forward to it but going in knowing it’s vastly different from the Miyazaki anime.
