#WeekendCoffeeShare: In Which I Plan to Do Nothing

If were having coffee, we would be hanging about on the couch today, enjoying a Saturday that is also a pajama day. I’m not exactly being lazy, but it still somehow feels a free day, since I get to sit on my couch in my pajamas. Today, I’m going to work on some of the blogging goals I want to accomplish soon, and I have plans to catch up with some friends in the afternoon. But I get to keep my pajamas on—we’re video chatting. πŸ™‚

I’m also writing for much of today, getting posts for next week ready. Carving out time on Saturday or Sunday to write posts for the week has been working well for me in the past couple of weeks, so I am working toΒ make that into a habit. Since Little Jedi comes home from a week away tomorrow, I want to get my writing done before he’s here.

And tonight, Sam and I have plans to Do Nothing. Glorious, wonderful plans to Do Nothing.

If we were having coffee, I would probably also still be crowing about yesterday’s SCOTUS decision. I’m sad to see that both my home state and my current state aren’t yet issuing licenses, and I hope they will be soon. LoveΒ should always win. The world can be dark, scary, and disheartening. Nothing we’ve come up with has held the dark at bay so well as love. As consenting adults, we should all have the rights andΒ recognition of the commitments we choose to make with those we love. And yesterday we came so much closer to making that happen in the U.S. There’s a long way to go, on many fronts. But this is a long, hard-won victory. When love wins, it deserves to be celebrated. It demands to be.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that this week on the blog I’ll have the regular features on Tuesday-Saturday. On Monday, you can find Urszula here talking about Dola for Monster Monday. And, coincidentally, you can find me at her place for Monday Inspirations talking about Harper Lee. And this Friday, stop by Eclectic Alli for another Feminist Friday discussion.

This afternoon, stop by here for the newest entry in our Lazy Lambs Book Club, this time onΒ A Dirty Job. We’ll have a linky for those of you who’ve read along, and we’ll be talking about which book to read next as well.

For now, link up your coffee posts below. Don’t forget to use the #weekendcoffeeshare tag on Twitter and Facebook, and visit one another! πŸ™‚

  1. I spend most at home moments in my jammies – I dress (begrudgingly) if i have to go out, or if we have visitors… and if I do go out clothes (especially the devils curse known as ‘Bra’) are swapped for the comfy withing minutes of getting home πŸ™‚

I admire your blogging schedule, and post frequency/quality… I give myself a highfive if I manage to fit more than one post a week in lol

i hope this week treats you well, and that you manage some more jammie moments πŸ™‚ x

    1. haha…Oh I’m with you on the jammies. If I’m home, I’m in my pjs. It’s such a fast transformation that my husband and I joke about it. I’m just not home all day very often anymore!

I have a few features that allow me to put together posts really quickly, and there are only 2 posts a week or so that take a significant amount of time to compose. I’ve found that’s a good way to keep the blog posting daily but not spend an absurd amount of time making that happen.

  3. I was really excited to see the SCOTUS decision. A few of my facebook friends were not, apparently, but Kansas is backwards in a lot of ways. I didn’t get into discussions with them about it, preferring to share instead the last paragraph of the decision with LOVE WINS! I personally don’t understand why it was ever an issue. I’m sure these people who oppose it would not want the government coming into their bedrooms so to speak.

  4. It’s been a pretty good week, so I’d be sharing that happiness with you. πŸ™‚ I only have three things to do today, and hopefully I can get them done early enough to get some fun reading, or possibly even WRITING, in! What a wonderful day it would be if that ends up panning out. πŸ™‚

  5. I love Nothing Days. It might be a Nothing Day for me, too. I do want to go out and get some wine. πŸ™‚ Well, before I left on my trip last week I found a super deal, by accident and got only one bottle. We were at a small local produce market and they had the BIG bottle of Yellow Tail Winter Holiday Red Blend for $5.99. It was delicious so now I want to go back and get some more. And I need eggs. No breakfast today because I have no eggs. 😦

Anyway, enjoy your day. Happy writing!

    1. I’ve been getting things done, but slowly. It’s nice to be able to drag around a bit if I want to. I do intend to stop working soon and just take the night off though because I can. Hope you got your win and that you enjoy it. πŸ™‚

  6. A lazy day sounds spectacular! It’s going to be so hot here (in the 100s! We’re not supposed to get that hot!) that I really want to sit in my dark room with the fans going just reading and writing. But it’s my last day to hit up the conference and see if I can spot people I haven’t seen yet so… I’ll get dressed and drag myself out into the heat.

    1. Yeesh. It’s been in the 80s and 90s here, but the humidity and heat index have been in the 105/110 area most of the week, and it’s been miserable. We do at least have storms that roll through for a little while once a day and cool things off for a little while. Hope you had fun at the conference, at least!

I am definitely looking forward yours and Ula’s posts on Monday, as I do enjoy both series a lot.

    1. Thanks! Glad you’ll be stopping by. πŸ™‚

And I hope so, too. At this point, it’s procedural meanness, and it’s really a terrible thing to do. I hope they’ll be forced to comply soon or will just give it up.

    1. Lately I’ve been doing the same, but I decided that I’d take the evening off after doing some work during the day. Of course, it’s 6:00 and I’m still blogging, but I’ve been going at a slow pace today. It’s a nice shift. πŸ™‚
