#WeekendCoffeeShare: Of This and Of That

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the week has not been a busy one, at least not for me, but I feel drained at any rate. I spent the week reading and writing and thinking a lot, and somehow that seems like way more effort than perhaps it should. Sam was busy this week–he’s got some great film work and opportunities going on right now, but that means that we miss him in the evenings. The day job keeps him busy during normal business hours, so all the film work right now has to be done at night, and that has required hours away from home this week. Little Jedi and I played video games together and did lots of fun things, but I’m glad that next week won’t be as busy for Sam (of course, I’m sure he is, too!)

The weekend should be a relaxing one—Little Jedi is off to visit his dad, and Sam and I don’t have much work to do. Instead, we’re going to use the cooler weather and grey days as an excuse to spend a weekend bundled up under covers and hanging out together. Of course, when I say cooler weather, some of you are probably giggling–it’s in the 60s for the most part right now. But after months of 100+ degree weather, 60-something feels cool. 😉

The coming week promises to be rather calm as well, and I’m quite glad. We’ve had a string of busy weeks, and we’re heading into the holiday season, which means that we’re going to be increasingly busy until mid-January or so. There’s Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, of course, for which we’ll be travelling to see part of my large family this year, and then afterward it’s time to put up Christmas decorations. Sam, his mother, and my mother all have December birthdays, so as we move closer to Christmas we’ll be celebrating several birthdays, too. I’m a bit exhausted just thinking of it, but I’m also very much looking forward to the decorations and twinkling lights.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my plan to read more blogs mostly fell through this week. I made the mistake of watching the first few minutes of How to Get away with Murder, and then I managed to spend quite a lot of the week watching the show in addition to the other things I was doing, and I’m also reading a few books right now. But this week I’m going to start getting more of that done. Better halfway through noblopomo than never, I suppose.

This week, Melissa Barker-Simpson will be here for Monster Monday chatting about Carrie White. And you can expect me to be up to the regular shenanigans as I try to finish out the last half of NanoPoblano. Don’t forget about the Four Paws for Noah contests, which you can find out more about here or here.

  1. I am a big fan of how to get away with murder,(imp)patiently waiting for the season 2 episode finale on Thursday.
if you watch enough of it, and CSI, you could just *puts on sunglasses* get away with murder, if not in the real world but fictionally take care of a problem, you know what am saying.

i forgot to get rid of last year’s Christmas decor, so we all strung up tree and all whoop whoop

    1. I really, really loved the show. Definitely want to see what’s going to happen when they bring the timeline together this season.

And hooray for easy decorating. 🙂

  2. I’ve never heard of How to Get Away with Murder. Sounds like a show that would be impossible to stop watching once you got started.

Hoping you’re able to catch your breath before the holiday frenzy sets in…! 🙂
