#WeekendCoffeeShare: 3/12/16

If we were having coffee, we would more than likely be sitting on the purple couch in my living room with our cups—and it’s highly probable that we’re listening to the sound of rain on the roof. Despite my best efforts to get out today, it looks as though we’ll be indoors, as lots of the area around us is flooded and there is still more rain to come over today.

Of course, that means I can spend the day reading, writing, and watching TV, so I’m not entirely sorry that I’m spending the day indoors. I have blog reading to catch up on from this week’s Throwback Thursday, and of course I’ll want to read coffee posts as well. I’m also intending to use the time to work on a few pieces that I’m sending out as guest posts and to finalize some things for the A to Z challenge. As I’m both participating and helping with the challenge, I have a lot to do over the next few weeks!

I wasn’t able to do much on the A to Z or blog reading front this week, as I spent most of the days working on an upcoming event for the nonprofit, finalizing some details for a new project, and writing upcoming guest posts for Infinite Free Time and for the Be Real series at Hasty Words. Yesterday was supposed to be reading day, but that turned into a bit of a lost cause after school was cancelled and Little Jedi was home with me. Instead, the cleaning I had to do took twice as long and there were video games played instead of reading done, but it was a nice rainy day at any rate.

The coming week promises to be another busy one. The nonprofit event I’m working toward is at the very beginning of May, so we really only have a month and a half to work toward our goals, and I’ll be working more on that as well as some grant information this week. There will definitely be more to do on the A to Z Challenge front, and I have time scheduled to work on my other writing projects as well—because they are not going to get done unless I just make myself sit down and get to work.

And speaking of…It’s time for me to stop talking and start doing that reading and writing I mentioned earlier. Link up your coffee posts below, and don’t forget to use the #weekendcoffeeshare tag on Facebook and Twitter!

  1. I am a big fan of days stuck inside. Hope you enjoy yours. I would be doing all the same things except I might sneak some drawing or painting in there. I do hope the rain slows though, so that the water backs off. That is a scary thing for those in a flood zone. Enjoy and be safe!

    1. I’m here a lot because I do most of my work from home, so I was looking forward to getting out—but I did also quite enjoy the chance to just read and relax instead of doing other things.

We’re glad the rains have stopped for now and hoping they don’t come back for a little while!

  2. I think that’s what I like most about rainy days — the excuse to stay indoors and read. I do hope the rain lets up for you soon. I’ve seen some footage on the news about the flooding down your way. Stay safe and dry. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks, Robin. We’re all safe here, though some of the surrounding areas were hit pretty hard, unfortunately. At least it looks as though the rains have stopped for a while.

  3. It is perfect to spend time indoors while it is raining. I haven’t been out yet but we have blue skies and a shining sun today. The promise of Spring πŸ™‚
Good luck with your reading and writing in the upcoming week.

    1. Thanks—I ended up just vegging out most of the weekend, but I’ve started the week feeling more energetic than I have been, so maybe the rest was worth it. πŸ™‚
